The Corporate Finance Faculty is the largest network of professionals involved in corporate finance. It has more than 6,400 members and includes over 85 member firms - ranging across major professional services firms, banks, private equity houses, corporate finance boutiques, brokers, law firms and companies.
The Faculty was established by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2007. It aims to be a centre of professional excellence in corporate finance, contributing to consultations from government and regulators, while representing the different disciplines within its membership.

Another objective is to aid continuous professional development of corporate financiers by providing a wide range of services, events and publications, including its award-winning magazine, Corporate Financier and best-practice guidelines.

The Faculty initiated the development of the first international Corporate Finance Qualification for practitioners, which was launched in April 2005. The CF qualification's partner organisations are the ICAEW, the SII and the CICA.

The Faculty intends to continuously extend its international recognition and influence by tracking agendas of foreign regulatory bodies and issuing guidance on capital markets matters. The membership now spans the globe, reaching well beyond chartered accountants. More than 10% of the Faculty members are based overseas.

The Faculty chairman is Ian Smart, head of Corporate Advisory Services at Grant Thornton; the chairman of its technical committee is Chris Searle, corporate finance partner at BDO Stoy Hayward. The head of the Faculty is Vera Sabeva, former investment banker.
